Island District Headquarters Building Renovations

Department of Conservation & Recreation

Project Description

The project consisted of performing a much-needed exterior renovation to the existing DCR and Environmental Police Headquarters in the beautiful Hingham Shipyard Development.

The structure had environmental materials that required full abatement in order to transform the structure into a new sleek design by Johnson Roberts Architects, and more importantly a long-lasting weathertight building with phenolic panels & hurricane windows for the DCR & Environmental Police to operate out of for years to come.

What We Did

Tower Construction coordinated all of the site required construction at the building which is adjacent to very busy MBTA commuter boat.  Improvements performed included abatement, new waterproofing, roofing, phenolic wall panels & rain screen system, overhead doors for the garages and hurricane rated windows / storefront.

Our work staff provided the installation of all misc. carpentry, temporary protection during all of the removal and replacement of openings (windows, doors, overhead doors) and misc. metals.
